Delhi Tourist Allegedly Leaves Udaipur Five-Star Hotel Without Paying ₹5.74 Lakh Bill

A Delhi-based man allegedly checked out of a five-star hotel in Udaipur without paying a ₹5.74 lakh bill after a 10-day stay with his wife and two children. The Oberoi Udaivilas has lodged a police complaint over the alleged non-payment, and an investigation is underway.

Family Stayed At Hotel For 10 Days

The man, identified as Anurag Yadav, travelled to Udaipur with his wife and two children.

According to the hotel’s complaint, a travel agency booked the stay for Yadav through email on August 12. The family stayed at The Oberoi Udaivilas from August 14 to August 23 and reportedly used several hotel services during their stay, including lunch and dinner.

The total charges for the stay and additional services came to ₹5.74 lakh, according to the complaint.

Man Allegedly Refuses To Pay Bill

The matter came to light when the family checked out of the hotel on August 24.

According to the complaint, Yadav was presented with the ₹5.74 lakh bill but allegedly refused to settle the amount. He reportedly told hotel officials that the travel agency that had made the booking would pay the bill.

However, when contacted, the travel agency allegedly denied having any such arrangement with Yadav.

The complaint was filed by Ravindra Singh, liaisoning manager at The Oberoi Udaivilas.

Police Register Case, Begin Investigation

Following the complaint, police registered a case and began investigating the alleged non-payment.

Police said Yadav works for a private company in Delhi. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the hotel booking, the payment dispute and the travel agency’s alleged denial of responsibility.

Further action will depend on the findings of the investigation.
