Delhi horror: Police arrests man for raping 65-yr-old mother twice to punish her for alleged affair in past

In a shocking case from India’s national capital, a 39-year-old man has been arrested for raping his 65-year-old mother twice for “punishing her for an alleged relationship she had in the past”.

According to the complaint, the incident took place shortly after the woman returned from a religious trip to Saudi Arabia.

The survivor lives with her husband, a retired government employee, her accused son, and her younger daughter in Delhi’s Hauz Qazi area, according to the complaint. The family also has an elder daughter who is married and lives nearby with her in-laws.

While the survivor, her husband, and younger daughter were travelling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj, the accused called his father and insisted he return to Delhi immediately on July 17. 

Moreover, he also asked his father to divorce his mother, and accused her of having had illicit relationships during his childhood.

The complaint stated horrific details that after the family returned to Delhi on August 1, the accused locked his mother in a room, forced her to remove her burqa, and beat her. He allegedly told her she had “spoiled” him in childhood, as per reports.

After the assault, she took shelter at her elder daughter’s home and then returned on August 11. As the abuse by the son continued on the same day she returned, the accused told his family he wanted to speak with his mother in private. He again locked her in a room, but this time, he raped her and stated he was punishing her for her “past relationships”, as per the complaint.

The assault did not stop here; he again raped her mother on August 14.

On Independence Day, the survivor, accompanied by her younger daughter, who encouraged her to lodge a complaint, approached the Hauz Qazi police station and submitted a written complaint.

As per reports, the police have arrested the individual, registering a case under Section 64 (rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
