Delhi passes fee regulation bill for private and govt schools

The Delhi government, in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday, approved a bill to regulate fees in both private and government schools in the national capital.
Speaking at a press conference after the meeting, CM Gupta called it a “bold and honest” step, stating that the government had approved the Delhi School Education Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees Bill, 2025.
CM Gupta said the issue had been widely discussed in recent days, with growing concern among parents over the actions of some schools and complaints of student harassment under the pretext of fee hikes.
Education Minister Ashish Sood added that the bill proposes the formation of a three-tier committee system to regulate and monitor fee increases across schools.
