Health official drowns in Ganga river

A health official from UP died by drowning in Ganga river today, after a local swimmer demanded a money transfer of ₹10,000 to save him, reported the media.

Aditya Vardhan Singh, deputy director of the state health department, drowned in the Ganga river after a local diver allegedly refused to save him until he received a payment of ₹10,000 from his friend.

As per reports, Singh, who was on vacation with his friends, was bathing in the Ganga river at Nanamau Ghat in the Bilhaur area when suddenly his foot slipped and he fell into the deep water.

His friend Pradeep Tiwari, who was present at the time of the incident, immediately asked for help.

A local swimmer present at the spot demanded ₹10,000 to save Aditya from drowning.

However, by the time his friends transferred the money, it was already too late, leading to Singh’s tragic death.
