Cow vigilante Bittu Bajrangi’s brother burned by group of attackers in Haryana

Cow vigilante Bittu Bajrangi’s brother Mahesh Panchal was assaulted by a group of attackers who splashed petrol on him and set him ablaze on the night of Dec 13 in Faridabad, Haryana.

His family members doused the fire. Panchal was then immediately shifted to a hospital in Delhi.

Panchal has reportedly sustained 60% burns on his body.

The incident took place in Chacha Chowk, near the city’s Baba Mandi area, and the accused reportedly fled the area in a car.

Assault on Bittu Bajrangi’s brother

The attackers reportedly confirmed the identity of the 32-year-old brother of Bittu Bajrangi, alias Rajkumar, before assaulting him, the police said.

As per preliminary information, Panchal has confirmed identifying one of the attackers. A thorough probe has been launched into this incident by the local police.

His brother, Bajrangi, has vowed “revenge over this act” and will “take matters into his own hands if the police don't act soon.”

Bittu Bajrangi’s past acts

Bajrangi was arrested from Faridabad after an FIR was registered against him on a complaint of assistant superintendent of police, Usha Kundu.

According to the FIR, Bajrangi and his supporters misbehaved and threatened Kundu and the police team, when they were stopped by them while they were carrying swords and trishuls to Nalhar temple during the VHP’s Brajmandal Jalabhishek Yatra on July 31.

Bajrangi was arrested by Faridabad police two days after the violence in connection with another case related to the communal clashes.

He was charged with making incendiary speeches on social media.

Bajrangi was granted bail by a local court on Aug 30.

On July 31, communal violence erupted between two groups, which claimed the lives of six people, including two Home Guards and a cleric.
