Congress launches ‘Vote Chori’ campaign portal urging people to ‘register’
Taking the fight against alleged election rigging to another level, the Indian National Congress has started a web portal where people can register to seek accountability from the Election Commission against ‘Vote Chori’ (vote theft).
On Sunday, the INC took to X, “The Vote Chori by the BJP & EC is an assault on the foundations of our country. We will fight till the end to safeguard the soul of our nation. Join us in our fight to save Indian democracy! Visit: http://votechori.in/ecdemand”
Anyone can click a link to download “vote theft evidence”, demand accountability from the ECI, and report alleged electoral fraud.
The site features a video of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi reiterating his explosive allegation of a “huge criminal fraud” in the elections, claiming collusion between the BJP and the ECI. He cited an analysis from a Karnataka constituency, calling it “a crime against the Constitution”.
It also carries a message warning that the vote—the cornerstone of democracy—is under “systematic attack by the BJP, with the Election Commission complicit”.
The portal reads, “The Congress and INDIA have raised alarms before, including in Maharashtra. Now we have proof. We will fight this vote chori with all our strength. Join us to defend our democracy.”
Moreover, once a person registers on the portal, a certificate is issued in their name, which states that he stands against “vote chori”.
Many leaders and people have shared their certificates on social media including Gujarat Congress leader Amit Chavda, Rajya Sabha MP P L Punia, and LoP Gandhi.
