Congress demands resignation of J&K L-G over ‘delayed responsibility’ for Pahalgam attack

Indian National Congress has asked J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to resign from his post after he accepted responsibility for the Pahalgam attack on April 22 that claimed lives of 26 tourists.
In a video posted on X on Monday, Congress leader Pawan Khera asked why the L-G took two and a half months to accept the responsibility for the incident.
“Who has called you now?” asked Khera, who questioned why the L-G was so sure an incident like Pahalgam would not take place.
He asked why there is a lack of ambulances despite the public paying high amounts of GST anc Cess, and the reason behind army being understaffed.
“Where is this money going?” he asked.
He ended the video saying, “When will you resign now that you have taken the responsibility for the incident?”
The caption to his video post read, “The much delayed acceptance of responsibility by LG Manoj Sinha is an insult to all those innocent tourists who lost their lives in Pahalgam terror attack. Who is the LG protecting? Where is the accountability?”
At least 26 civilians, including a Nepalese tourist and a local pony guide operator, were massacred by terrorists in the scenic Baisaran meadow in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.
