Commercial LPG prices cut, no relief in domestic cooking gas after hike in April

Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has reduced the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders starting from Thursday, providing minor relief to businesses and commercial users. However, domestic cooking gas prices remain unchanged following the ₹50 hike implemented last month.
According to the latest update, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by up to ₹17 across major cities.
In Kolkata, the price has come down from ₹1868.50 to ₹1851.50. Mumbai has seen a drop from ₹1713.50 to ₹1699. In Chennai, the cylinder now costs ₹1906.50, down from ₹1921.50. In the national capital, Delhi, a 19-kg commercial cylinder is now available at ₹1747.50.
Despite the price cut for commercial cylinders, there has been no change in domestic LPG rates. As of May 1, 2025, the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder is priced at ₹853 in Delhi, ₹879 in Kolkata, ₹852.50 in Mumbai, and ₹868.50 in Chennai.
The last update to domestic LPG prices was made on April 8, when the government hiked the price by ₹50 per cylinder – the first such increase in nearly a year.
The current revision is seen as part of routine monthly price adjustments based on international fuel rates and domestic market conditions.
