Cockroach Janata Party Threatens Nationwide Agitation Over 'Broken Promises' by Centre

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has issued a stern warning to the Union Government, threatening to relaunch a nationwide peaceful agitation if its pending demands and commitments made to youth are not fulfilled immediately.

Addressing a press conference, CJP leaders accused the Centre of backing out of assurances that led to the suspension of their previous countrywide protests on 25 July. The party asserted that the administration is actively reneging on solemn pledges made to students and young protesters across the country.

Supreme Court Record Highlights Stand-Off

CJP legal affairs lead Ratna Singh and co-coordinator Sourav Das revealed that during a Supreme Court hearing on 18 August, the bench repeatedly asked the Centre to produce a comprehensive list of First Information Reports (FIRs) registered against students and demonstrators.

According to the party's legal team, the apex court intended to exercise its extraordinary powers under Article 142 of the Constitution to quash all pending cases in a single order. However, despite explicit directions from the bench, government counsel failed to submit the required documentation or provide a clear timeline for compliance.

"Having persuaded demonstrators to clear the streets, the government is now attempting to betray the country's youth," CJP representatives stated during the briefing.

Unfulfilled Assurances and Executive Meeting

The party highlighted two core commitments that formed the bedrock of the 25 July withdrawal agreement:

• Complete Withdrawal of Cases: The immediate and unconditional cancellation of all FIRs filed against student activists during the agitation, accompanied by a guarantee against future retaliatory action.
• Compensation for Affected Families: Substantial financial compensation for the families of candidates who lost their lives amidst the controversies surrounding the NEET examinations.

While describing the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as an initial victory for their movement, CJP leadership emphasized that the broader struggle remains far from over.

To map out its future course of action, the Cockroach Janata Party has convened an emergency meeting of its National Executive on 24 August. The leadership warned that failure by the administration to honour its commitments will trigger a fresh wave of peaceful, coordinated protests across multiple states.
