Class 12 re-evaluation portal hit by cyberattacks, says CBSE board

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday said its Class 12 re-evaluation portal was hit by a barrage of cyberattacks shortly after it was opened for students. The board said the portal also recorded more than one lakh attempts at unauthorised file access.
In a post on X, CBSE claimed, “While thousands of students accessed the CBSE re-evaluation portal today, malicious actors attempted to disrupt services through a barrage of cyberattacks.”
Furthermore, it said services have now been restored, and over 16,000 students have successfully submitted their applications for verification of marks and re-evaluation.
“The CBSE revaluation portal is currently supporting over 8,000 concurrent users. As of 3:00 PM today, more than 16,000 students have successfully completed their submissions.”
The portal, which opened on Tuesday, had already faced multiple delays. It was initially scheduled to go live on May 29 but was later postponed to June 1 to ensure a transparent and error-free process.
Students seeking verification of marks or re-evaluation can apply through the official CBSE website.
The launch comes amid an ongoing controversy surrounding CBSE's on-screen marking (OSM) system. The Ministry of Education has sought a detailed report from the board regarding the OSM portal and the contract awarded to Hyderabad-based Coempt EduTeck.
Earlier in the day, a parliamentary panel reportedly reviewed concerns related to the on-screen marking system and the implementation of the three-language policy for Classes 9 and 10.
