Chicago-bound Air India flight from Delhi receives bomb threat, diverted to Canada
A flight bound for Chicago was diverted to Canada after the flight received a bomb threat online.
As per the airline official, the flight bound for Canada from Delhi on Tuesday had received an online bomb threat. The Chicago-bound flight was averted to Canada at Iqaluit Airport.
As per the statement posted on ‘X’ by Air India “Flight AI127 operation from Delhi to Chicago on October 15, 2024, was the subject of a security threat posted online and as a precautionary measure, has landed at Iqaluit Airport in Canada.”
The statement release further said that the “aircraft and passengers are being re-screened as per the laid down security protocol. Air India has activated agencies at the airport to assist the passengers until such time that their journey can resume”.
Air India also asked for an apology for the inconvenience faced by the passengers.
The airline has also promised legal action against those responsible.
