Centre cuts petrol-diesel prices by ₹2 ahead of Lok Sabha elections
In light of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the centre has declared a significant slash of ₹2 nationwide, effective from Mar 15, 6 a.m. onwards.
The ministry of petroleum and natural gas informed in a post on X.
Petrol price in Ahmedabad is reported to be ₹96.40 today. This amount will be reduced by ₹2, effective from Mar 15.

“Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have informed that they have revised Petrol and Diesel Prices across the country. New prices would be effective from 15th March 2024, 06:00 AM.
Reduction in petrol and diesel prices will boost consumer spending and reduce operating costs for over 58 lakh heavy goods vehicles running on diesel, 6 crore cars and 27 crore two-wheelers,” the post read.
Recently, Centre announced a ₹100 slash on the LPG (liquified petroleum gas) cylinders, used for cooking purposes, on Mar 8 (Women‘s day).
