CBSE Class 10 Verification 2026: Window Opens for Scanned Copies and Re-Evaluation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the online portal for Class 10 post-result facilities following the completion of both the Main and Second Board Examinations 2026. Students looking to obtain evaluated answer sheets, verify their marks, or seek question-wise re-evaluation can now submit their requests through the official board portal.

Issued under the authority of Controller of Examinations Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, the board’s notification sets tight deadlines and strict procedural guidelines, making digital answer sheet retrieval a mandatory first step for any subsequent marks review.

Stage 1: Securing Digital Answer Sheets

Under the updated framework, candidates who appeared for the Main Board Examination in April or the Second Board Examination in July must first apply for digital access to their evaluated answer scripts before filing any dispute regarding their marks.

• Processing Fee: ₹300 per subject

For candidates who sat for both the Main and Second board attempts in a single subject, CBSE permits students to request scanned copies of both answer books to evaluate their relative performance.

Stage 2: Marks Verification and Re-Evaluation Rules

Once students download their evaluated answer sheets from the candidate portal, they can cross-check their responses against the official question papers and marking schemes published on the CBSE website. If totaling discrepancies, un-assessed steps, or evaluation errors are spotted, candidates can apply for formal verification or question-specific re-evaluation.

• Verification Fee: ₹300 per answer book
• Re-Evaluation Fee: ₹100 per question (includes all sub-parts)

CBSE has instituted a strict selection clause for dual-attempt candidates: students who appeared in both the Main and Second examinations for a specific subject may only select one answer book—either the Main or the Second—for formal verification and re-evaluation.

Crucial Terms and Conditions for Applicants

The education board highlighted several binding regulations that candidates must consider before submitting their applications:

• Risk of Mark Reduction: Revised scores issued after re-evaluation will be final and binding. Any adjustment, including a reduction by even a single mark, will be recorded. Students whose marks change must surrender their original Mark Statement-cum-Certificate to receive a revised document.
• Fee Refunds: If an error is confirmed and a student's marks increase following review, the board will refund the processing fee directly to the bank account used during the online transaction.
• Single-Submission Rule: Candidates can submit only one consolidated online application. Adding subjects or submitting additional requests after initial submission is strictly prohibited.
• RTI Limitation: While students retain the right to request copies of answer scripts under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, CBSE specified that re-evaluation and marks modification requests cannot be routed through RTI applications.
