Canada comes to India’s aid amid gas shortage, will provide LPG to meet energy needs

Reports suggest that the ongoing fierce war between Israel and Iran has increased concerns about energy supply at the global level. As the supply of gas and oil from West Asian countries is disrupted, its effects have also started to be felt in India. At this time of crisis, Canada has extended a hand of friendship towards India.
According to reports, Canada has offered to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to meet India's growing energy needs. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney made a statement and said that Canada can play an important role in meeting India's needs as an energy superpower. Sharing a video with PM Modi on Wednesday, Carney reportedly said, "India's energy demand is estimated to double by the year 2040 and Canada can prove to be the most reliable partner for this."
The war in West Asia has affected the gas supply from countries like Qatar. Due to which prices have surged. Mark Carney asserted that Canada supplies the world's lowest carbon emissions and safely produced LNG. The use of this gas can prove to be very effective for Indian industries and power generation.
Reports suggest that Canada will not only provide gas, but Canada has also shown its readiness to provide important minerals required for India's manufacturing and clean technology sectors. Canada is home to about 40% of the world's mining companies, which will be strategically beneficial for India's growing economy.
As per reports, India's Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also indicated that India is reducing its dependence on West Asia to secure its energy needs. Adding to that, India is now exploring new routes and sources for importing oil, LPG and uranium with other countries like Canada. So that the availability of fuel in the country remains stable and the common public does not face any problems.
