With the political parties going all-in for the two remaining phases of the Lok Sabha Elections across the country, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a show-cause notice to one of its union ministers over his disinterest in campaigning.

It is believed that Jayant Sinha, a member of Parliament from Jharkhand, was upset with not getting the LS candidature, resulting in him distancing from the party campaign.

The notice seeks a response from him within two days.

The notice mentioned that Sinha has shown no interest in election activities since the declaration of Manish Jaiswal from the Hazaribagh constituency.

“Moreover, you have not practised your right to vote in the grand festival of democracy. Such attitude has tarnished the reputation of the party,” mentions the letter.

The notice was signed by the party’s general secretary Aditya Sahu and was sent under the suggestion of the party’s state president Babulal Marandi.

Notably, Jaiswal had paid a visit to Sinha when his name was announced for the LS polls. Sharing the details of their meet, Sinha had said on X wished Jaiswal the best for the elections, and mentioned that the lotus would win by a record margin.

Jayant Sinha’s son, Ashir Sinha, was also seen on stage with Congress in Jharkhand. After the uproar, Rajesh Thakur, the state president of Congress in Jharkhand, had clarified that the party had invited Yashwant Sinha, but due to his health, Sinha had sent his grandson as a representative.

Dhanbad MLA also gets a notice

Besides Jayant Sinha, the BJP issued a show-cause notice to Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha for making a statement against the party’s candidate from the Dhanbad seat.

“This is a disciplinary issue and the party has zero tolerance on this issue,” Aditya Sahu said.
