The Bihar BJP shared a photograph on social meda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar standing together after the NDA registered a sweeping victory, securing another term in the state.

A Bhojpuri message accompanying the picture when translated reads: “Modi-Nitish team delivers again; Bihar’s progress continues.”

The post subtly referenced the 2020 scenario when Nitish Kumar became chief minister despite the JD(U) winning just 43 seats, a result heavily affected by the LJP’s sabotage. In contrast, the BJP had emerged as the dominant force within the alliance at the time.

This year, while the BJP is once again expected to hold the position of the largest NDA partner, the JD(U) has significantly boosted its performance and may nearly double its 2020 seat count.

Seat-sharing between the two parties has gone through several adjustments over the years, in 2010, the JD(U) contested 141 seats and the BJP 102. In 2020, the allocation shifted to 115 for JD(U) and 110 for the BJP. For the 2025 polls, both allies contested 101 seats each, signalling a more balanced partnership.
