Bengaluru Hotel Double Murder: Father Allegedly Strangles Daughters, Tries To Kill Himself Over Custody Dispute

Two sisters, aged eight and 10, were allegedly strangled by their father inside a five-star hotel in Bengaluru following a marital dispute and a custody battle, police said on Tuesday. The father, 45-year-old SG Imran, was found with his neck slit in the hotel bathroom and was later taken to hospital, where doctors said he was out of danger.

Father Allegedly Confesses To Killing Daughters

Deputy Commissioner of Police GK Mithun said Imran had confessed to killing his two daughters. Police said he allegedly told investigators that he took the extreme step after failing to secure custody of the children amid an ongoing dispute with his wife.

Police also recovered a note allegedly written by Imran, which reportedly referred to the marital dispute and the custody issue.

Girls Found Dead Inside Hotel Room

Imran and his daughters had checked into the hotel on Sunday and were scheduled to check out the following day.

When hotel staff received no response after attempting to contact them on Monday, they eventually opened the room using a master key.

The two girls were found lying on the bed, while Imran was found in the bathroom with a severe neck injury. He was rushed to hospital and remains out of danger.

Police Probe Marital Dispute

Police said the children were allegedly killed by strangulation. Their post-mortem reports will help establish the exact cause and circumstances of their deaths.

Investigators have also spoken to Imran's wife, who confirmed that the couple had been involved in a marital dispute.

Police sources had earlier alleged that Imran suspected his wife of having an affair. Investigators are examining the custody dispute and other circumstances surrounding the deaths before drawing further conclusions.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
