Bengaluru: Gas Cylinder Explodes After Leaking Gas Catches Fire From Oil Lamp, Delivery Boy Escapes Unhurt

A gas cylinder exploded while being delivered to a house in Bengaluru’s Malleshwaram after leaking gas came into contact with an oil lamp burning near the entrance. The delivery boy escaped without serious injuries.

The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Malleshwaram Police Station while the delivery worker was placing the cylinder near the house entrance.

According to preliminary information, a woman living in the house had washed the entrance threshold as part of a ritual and lit an oil lamp there. The delivery boy arrived shortly afterwards with a gas cylinder carried on his shoulder.

Unaware of the burning lamp, he placed the cylinder near the doorway. However, the cylinder reportedly had a minor gas leak.

As soon as the leaking gas came into contact with the flame, a fire broke out, followed by a loud explosion. The sudden burst of flames caused panic in the area.

Delivery Boy's Quick Response Prevents Major Mishap

As flames erupted from the cylinder, the delivery boy immediately stepped back. His quick reaction helped him avoid serious injuries.

Fortunately, no one from the public was injured in the incident, and no loss of life was reported.

Following the incident, personnel from the Malleshwaram Police Station and the fire brigade rushed to the spot and began an investigation.

Police confirmed that no members of the public were injured and that nobody's life was endangered.
