Yet another visa scam has come to light in Ahmedabad, where two agents from Anand allegedly defrauded over ₹2.41 crore from multiple individuals by promising fake Australian work permits. A complaint has been officially registered with the Ahmedabad CID Crime Branch, and investigations are currently underway.

The accused, Krunal Patel and Pritesh Patel, reportedly operated from an office located in Vaibhav Commercial Complex, Anand. They targeted individuals by offering an attractive Australian work visa package worth 98,000 Australian dollars (~₹53.46 lakh). As part of the deal, they claimed a processing cost of ₹25 lakhs.

According to the FIR filed by Tejas Patel, a resident of Ahmedabad, the accused gained his trust and convinced him to involve friends and relatives. Within a month, Tejas along with 23 people collectively paid ₹2.41 crore, including ₹35 lakhs in cash.

To appear genuine, the accused initially shared fake documents such as visa letters and flight tickets for Tejas and his friends. However, when some individuals became suspicious and verified the documents online, they discovered they were forged.

Soon after, the accused shut down their office and went into hiding. Following the revelation, a formal complaint was filed with the CID Crime Branch. Police have begun an in-depth investigation and believe the scale of the fraud may be even larger than currently reported.
