JD(U)-expelled Mokama MLA Anant Singh has extended invitations for his daughter’s wedding to friends and well-wishers across India and Pakistan, saying he wants everyone associated with his family to attend the celebrations.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Singh said invitations were being sent to people whose contact numbers he had, regardless of where they lived.
“I want all my friends, well-wishers and people associated with us to attend. Everyone is invited,” he said.
Singh added that the invitations were not limited to Bihar or even India. He said people from Pakistan were also welcome at the wedding.
Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prasad Yadav Also On Guest List
Singh said he would invite political leaders across party lines, including former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.
He maintained that political rivalries should not affect family celebrations, drawing a distinction between electoral contests and social occasions.
“There is no ruling party or Opposition at a wedding. Such divisions exist during elections and when seeking votes, but not at weddings and family celebrations,” he said.
Grand Wedding Preparations In Bihar
Singh’s younger daughter, Shivangi Singh, is set to marry Rishikesh Kumar, also known as Ankit, on November 25. The wedding celebrations are being planned on a large scale at the family’s native village of Ladma in Bihar’s Patna district.
Around 10 bighas of land are being prepared for the event, with elaborate pandals and arrangements for guests. The family is also planning a feast for around four lakh people.
The celebrations are expected to feature political leaders, Bollywood personalities and Bhojpuri stars. Singh has also announced a horse-racing competition, with a Mahindra Thar promised to the winner and a motorcycle for the runner-up.
The wedding preparations come amid a difficult period for Singh politically. He was expelled from the JD(U) in October along with his wife, Neelam Devi, over alleged anti-party activities. He is also due to surrender by December 1 following a Supreme Court order in the Dularchand Yadav murder case.
