Amit Shah likely to move bills on removal of arrested PM, CM in Lok Sabha today

Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to introduce three bills in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, proposing provisions for the removal of the Chief Minister, Prime Minister, and Ministers of States and Union Territories, as per reports.
As per the proposed bills, if any minister is detained for more than 30 days, they will automatically be removed from office on the 31st day. Further, if convicted of a serious crime and sentenced to more than five years in prison, they will be required to vacate their position. After completing their sentence, they will be eligible to contest elections or seek reappointment.
The mechanism for removal of ministers has also been outlined: the President will issue orders for the removal of the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister will have the authority to remove state ministers, Governors will oversee the removal of Chief Ministers, and the Lieutenant Governor will exercise this power for Chief Ministers in Union Territories.
