A harrowing incident unfolded today on an Akasa Air flight from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, where passengers stared death in the face. After two failed landing attempts on the Ahmedabad runway, the aircraft was diverted to Jaipur.

Passengers on the Akasa Air flight QP1781 (Boeing 737 Max 8) from Mumbai to Ahmedabad endured a heart-stopping ordeal on January 13, 2026.

Departing Mumbai at 8.40 am and due to land at 10 am, the plane hit a severe technical glitch mid-flight.

As the plane neared the runway on schedule, a sudden technical glitch or adverse conditions prevented the pilot from stabilizing it.

On the first attempt, the aircraft came perilously close before the pilot aborted and pulled up.The second try repeated the nightmare, heightening panic as the plane hovered inches away from disaster twice in succession.

After two consecutive failed landings in Ahmedabad, the Air Traffic Control (ATC) and the pilot decided not to take the risk. The flight was immediately diverted to Jaipur airport for safety reasons.

Passengers breathed a sigh of relief as the plane landed safely in Jaipur. It is believed that an investigation has been ordered by the airlines to find out the exact cause of this technical glitch.
