10,000 kg of explosive material seized from deserted Rajasthan farmhouse on Republic Day eve

Rajasthan police have uncovered a major illegal explosives operation linked to unlawful mining activities in Nagaur district, according to reports.
In a joint operation, police reportedly arrested a man and seized nearly 10,000 kg of explosive material, revealing what officials believe is a large smuggling network operating in the region.
The accused, Sulaman Khan, was arrested after the district special team and local police conducted a rate at a deserted farmhouse in Harsaur village, under the jurisdiction of Thawla police station, according to reports.
Acting on specific intelligence, the teams searched the premises and discovered a massive stockpile of explosives hidden across four rooms of the farmhouse, apparently to avoid suspicion.
During the operation, police reportedly recovered 187 bags of ammonium nitrate weighing approximately 9,550 kilograms. Detonators, wires and other explosive-related materials were also seized from the site.
Further investigation revealed that the accused has a criminal background, with three previous cases registered against him. Two cases are currently under trial, while he has been acquitted in one, as per reports.
The accused has been presented before a court and sent to police custody. Further raids and questioning are expected as the investigation continues.
