Mumbai woman attacks partner at New Year gathering after dispute over marriage

​A shocking incident was reported from Santacruz East in Mumbai, where a 25-year-old woman allegedly attacked her partner during a New Year gathering at her home. The incident took place in the Kalina area.

According to police, the woman invited her 42-year-old partner to her house on the occasion of celebrating the New Year. However, an argument broke out between the two over marriage.

The couple had been in a relationship for nearly seven years, and police said the woman had been insisting on marriage, which the man reportedly refused multiple times.

In a fit of anger, the woman allegedly attacked the man with a sharp  weapon and slashed his private parts, causing him serious injuries. Despite his condition, the victim managed to escape from the house and contacted his brother, who rushed him to VN Desai Hospital for emergency treatment.

Vakola Police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for grievous hurt using a dangerous weapon, criminal intimidation, and other offences. The woman is currently absconding, and police teams have been formed to trace and arrest her.

Further investigation is ongoing.
