Mumbai commute made easy: WhatsApp ticketing launched for Metro Line-3

Mumbaikars will now be able to ditch long queues at Mumbai Metro Line-3, also known as Aqua Line, after Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has launched WhatsApp-based ticketing.
This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the underground Aqua Line metro last week.
Without any hassle of downloading a new application or surfing a website, the new feature provides efficiency to the commuters.
How to get metro tickets via WhatsApp?
- Send ‘Hi’ to 91-98730-1683.
- The chatbot will send a message with three options of ‘buy ticket’, ‘retrieve ticket’, and ‘last transactions’.
- On clicking the ‘buy ticket’ option, a link will be shared which will take you to the browser of MMRC.
- Select source and destination and easily pay with the help of UPI.

On Metro Line 3, the WhatsApp ticketing service is powered by PeLocal Fintech Private Limited and can be accessed directly without the need for a separate application.
A similar facility is already available on Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7, introduced by the Maha Mumbai Metro Operations Corporation Limited (MMMOCL).
According to the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), the travel from Cuffe Parade to Aarey JVLR will be less than an hour. Travel fare starts at ₹10 and goes up to ₹70, which will be affordable to everyone. Train availability will be every five minutes from 5.55 am to 10.30 pm.
