Messi in Mumbai! Maha CM confirms legend’s arrival in India

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed on Sunday evening that Lionel Messi will visit Mumbai on December 14, 2025, as part of the much-anticipated GOAT Tour.

Taking to his X handle Fadnavis wrote, “Guess what! Lionel Messi is coming to Maharashtra and will play football with you, my young friends.”

He also thanked the Argentine World Cup champion for the gift.

“Thank you, Messi, for giving me your personally signed football! 

I welcome your forthcoming visit to Mumbai on 14th December 2025, as a part of the GOAT Tour!”

Fadnavis further wrote, “Under-14 young football players from across Maharashtra will be selected by our Sports Department, #MITRA and WIFA and will get to practice with Lionel Messi on 14th December!” 

“I invite football fans and the corporates to support our efforts to bring world-class training to Maharashtra’s youth!” he added.

Notably, Kerala will host Messi at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kaloor for an international friendly match, bringing the World Cup-winning squad before the state's passionate fans.

Taking to his social media account Kerala Sports Minister V Abdurahiman said the official confirmation came through an email communication from the Argentine Football Association (AFA), confirming that the World Cup-winning squad will participate in an international fixture in Kerala during the FIFA International Match Window of November 2025.
