A 27-year-old man died after his head got stuck in an iron fence while trying to get off a local train from the wrong side at Mumbai Central railway station on Thursday morning, according to reports.

The incident reportedly occurred around 9 am when the passenger, identified as Rajesh from Jogeshwari, attempted to exit the train from the wrong side. Commuters witnessed the moment when his face got trapped in the iron fencing located between the tracks.

Mumbai Railway police responded swiftly and got a doctor at the station. Unfortunately, Rajesh was declared dead upon the doctor’s arrival.

This incident adds to the growing number of accidents involving Mumbai’s local train network. In the rush to reach destinations on time, many passengers risk their lives by taking shortcuts, including exiting trains from the wrong side or get off the moving trains.
