Man dies, woman hospitalised at Mumbai techno event

A 28-year-old law student died after collapsing during a techno music concert at the NSCI Dome in Worli on Saturday evening, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, as per reports.
The deceased, identified as Vrushabh Gangurde, reportedly fell unconscious while attending the event. He was immediately rushed to Breach Candy Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
As per reports, police suspect excessive alcohol consumption may have played a role in the incident, though investigators have not ruled out the possibility of drug use. Officials said the exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report is received.
Tardeo Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and launched an investigation. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the venue and reviewing other electronic evidence to determine what led to the tragedy. The Mumbai Crime Branch has also begun a parallel inquiry, as per reports.
In a separate incident at the same concert, a 31-year-old woman reportedly suffered health complications after consuming alcohol and energy drinks. She was admitted to Jaslok Hospital, where her condition was later stabilised.
According to police reports, the woman, who remains under medical care, has stated that she did not consume any narcotic substances.
The latest incident comes just two months after two management students allegedly died from a suspected drug overdose during a techno music event at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Goregaon. Following that case, Vanrai Police arrested 10 people, including management students from a reputed South Mumbai college and alleged drug suppliers from Kalyan accused of distributing ecstasy tablets at the event.
