Major accident on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway as wedding truck collides with container in Dahanu

At least two people were reportedly killed in an accident between a truck and a container on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway on Monday.

The incident took place at Dhanivari in Dahanu  where a truck carrying groomsmen on their way to a wedding, as per reports. 

A two-wheeler was also crushed in the horrific accident between the Eicher truck and a container, reportedly killing two people on the two-wheeler and ten others, and nearly 30 to 33 people in the truck were injured.

This accident took place near the bride’s house while the wedding procession was going to Dhanivari from Bapugaon in Dahanu taluka, as per reports.

The injured were immediately taken to the Sub-District Hospital in Kasa, while the seriously injured were sent to Vedanta Hospital in Dhundalwadi and Gujarat Hospital for treatment.

According to reports citing sources, the truck was going to Khadkipada after reaching Dhanivari.
