Maharashtra Hit By Four Earthquake Tremors overnight

Several parts of Maharashtra witnessed four earthquake tremors after midnight on Thursday, triggering panic among residents. The tremors were felt in parts of the Marathwada region, including Hingoli district, even as Mumbai and nearby areas continued to receive heavy rainfall.

People reportedly rushed out of their homes after feeling the repeated tremors. However, no deaths or serious injuries have been reported so far.

Strongest Tremor Recorded At 4.6

According to reports, the strongest earthquake struck at 1:37 am and measured 4.6 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter was reportedly located near Pangra Shinde village in Vasmat taluka of Hingoli district.

Three more tremors were recorded later at around 2:15 am, 2:17 am, 2:48 am and 2:50 am, creating panic in several villages across the area.

Tremors Felt In Nearby Districts

Apart from Hingoli, earthquake tremors were also felt in parts of Latur district’s Udgir area and Parbhani district, according to reports.

There were reports of small cracks appearing in the walls of some mud houses and homes in rural areas. However, no major building collapse has been reported.

District administration teams are currently surveying the affected areas.

Heavy Rain Disrupts Mumbai

While parts of Marathwada experienced earthquake tremors, Mumbai and nearby regions continued to receive heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.

Waterlogging was reported in several low-lying areas, leading to traffic disruptions. Local train services and road transport were also affected as rain water accumulated on railway tracks and roads.

Strong winds and heavy rain also reportedly led to incidents of fallen trees and wall collapses in some places.

Administration Issues Advisory

Authorities are working to remove water from flooded areas using pumping stations.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has advised people to step out only if necessary considering the ongoing weather conditions.
