Local train derails at Dombivli railway station, disrupting operations in Mumbai

An empty local train derailed near Dombivli railway station in Thane district on Monday morning at around 8.10 am. After the derailment, at least three local train services were disrupted in Mumbai’s suburban rail network. As the train was empty, no injuries were reported.
The Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of reportedly said that a coach of an empty local rake coming from Kalwa Car Shed to Kalyan was derailed near Dombivali station at 8.09 am.
Due to the derailment, at least three local trains that were waiting for the UP direction were disrupted, he added.
He further confirmed that no injury to any passenger as the local was empty.
This incident occurred on the main line of Central Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT).
Reportedly, railway teams are engaged in clearing the coach and attempting to restore normalcy in the affected area.
