Illegal structures linked to AIMIM corporator Matin Patel demolished in Nashik TCS harassment case

The local municipal corporation demolished alleged illegal constructions linked to AIMIM corporator Matin Patel in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after police claimed he had sheltered Nida Khan, the accused in Nashik TCS harassment case.
Nida Khan was arrested on May 7 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in central Maharashtra. According to police, Patel had provided her shelter. During interrogation, Patel allegedly admitted to helping Khan and sharing her location.
The municipal corporation had issued a notice to Patel on May 9 over alleged illegal constructions in the Naregaon area, asking him to respond within 72 hours. The notice stated that the civic body could take action if no clarification was submitted. Patel later approached the court seeking a stay on the demolition, but no relief was granted.
Under heavy police security, municipal officials on Wednesday demolished portions of Patel’s residence, office, and several shops, Mayor Sameer Rajurkar reportedly said.
On Tuesday night, AIMIM leader Imtiaz Jaleel visited Patel’s family in Naregaon and criticised the municipal corporation for acting in haste.
Earlier, the mayor had also indicated that steps were being initiated to cancel Patel’s corporator post in connection with the alleged illegal construction case.
