Four dead, nine injured after falling from overcrowded local train in Thane

Four passengers dead and nine other injured after falling from a moving Mumbai local train between Mumbra and Diva stations in Thane district on Monday, according to reports.

The incident reportedly occurred on a train heading towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). The train was reportedly overcrowded, and several commuters were hanging near the doors when some of them fell from the moving train near Mumbra station.

Police officials arrived at the scene shortly after receiving information and have launched an investigation into the incident.

Local train services on the Central Line are expected to be affected due to the mishap. Authorities are working to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
