BEST to run more buses, allows entry from front door for Mumbai’s HSC, SSC students

As the Maharashtra Board HSC and SSC examinations are set to begin next week, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has announced special arrangements to help Mumbai’s students reach their examination centres without any hassle. 

To facilitate smooth travel and save time during the examination period, students will be allowed to board the buses through the front door. 

The Class 12 exams will be held from February 10 to March 11 and the Class 10 exams from February 20 to March 18. Considering the possibility of a large number of students travelling to the city during this period, BEST has instructed its operational staff to provide additional bus services wherever required.

As per reports, depot managers and senior officials have been directed to arrange for additional buses to be run based on the request of students or parents and also considering the traffic situation. 

Officers and inspectors will also be present at important junctions and bus stops to ensure rapid movement of buses and prevent delays during peak hours.

Additionally, drivers and conductors have also been asked to behave politely with the examinees in the bus.
