A cargo truck operated by a third party crashed into an Akasa Air plane at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Monday, as per reports.
The airline reportedly stated that the cargo truck hit the stationary plane, and they have launched a thorough inspection into the incident.
The details of the damage are not yet clear, but visuals emerging from the scene show that the truck has slightly torn a part of the plane’s wing.
This incident comes amid a series of aviation mishaps in recent days. After the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12, an IndiGo flight from Patna to Delhi made an emergency landing at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport shortly after takeoff on Wednesday following a bird hit, causing panic among the 169 passengers on board.
According to airport officials, the pilot took quick action and averted a major mishap. All passengers were safely evacuated.
