Ajit Pawar plane crash: Pawar family rushes to Barmati after crash

Family members of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar rushed to Baramati on Wednesday following the plane crash that claimed his life near the town earlier in the day.

NCP (SP) chief and Pawar’s uncle Sharad Pawar left his residence for Baramati along with family members soon after the news of the crash emerged.

Ajit Pawar’s wife and Rajya Sabha MP Sunetra Pawar, their son Parth Pawar, and his cousin and NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule are expected to travel to Maharashtra shortly.

A large number of supporters gathered outside the Baramati Medical College and Hospital, where bodies from the crash site were brought. The atmosphere in Baramati remained tense and emotional as news of the tragedy spread.

Ajit Pawar died after the aircraft he was travelling in crashed while attempting to land near Baramati. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has confirmed the deaths.

Emergency services and senior officials reached the crash site immediately, while investigations into the incident are underway.
