204.86 Grams MD Worth ₹6.14 Lakh Seized Near Mehsana Railway Station, Two Held

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Gujarat CID Crime and Railways arrested two men and seized 204.86 grams of suspected mephedrone (MD) worth around ₹6.14 lakh near Mehsana railway station on Monday, police said.

The joint operation was carried out by ANTF surveillance teams from the Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad zones following information about alleged MD trafficking in the railway station area.

Two Suspects Intercepted Near Railway Station

According to police, teams kept watch on the movement of suspected persons before intercepting the two men allegedly involved in drug trafficking.

The accused were identified as Bhikharam Deeparam Sihol, alias Bishnoi, 46, a Rajasthan resident, and Suraj Mangusingh Rajpurohit, 27, who lives in Ahmedabad and is originally from Rajasthan.

Police said 204.86 grams of suspected MD, valued at ₹6.14 lakh, was recovered from the accused.

Car, Three Mobile Phones Also Seized

Apart from the suspected narcotic substance, police seized a car valued at ₹5 lakh and three mobile phones — two Android devices and an Apple phone — collectively worth ₹20,000.

The total value of the seized items was estimated at ₹11.34 lakh, police said.

A case has been registered against the two accused under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Ahmedabad ANTF To Probe Drug Network

The investigation has been handed over to the Ahmedabad Zone ANTF team.

Investigators will now seek to establish the source of the suspected MD, its intended destination and the wider network allegedly involved in its trafficking, police said.
