With celebrities are leading the way, wired headphones are cool again

Wired headphones, once thought to be outdated, are officially making a comeback. From movie stars to top athletes, more and more famous faces are ditching bluetooth earbuds and going back to good old wired earphones, and not just for sound, but for style too.
What started as a quiet fashion moment has now turned into a full-blown trend. Celebrities like Bella Hadid, Lily Rose Depp, Harry Styles, Zendaya, and others have been spotted walking around cities. Airports and events with wired headphones hanging from their ears or neck. The visible wire, once annoying, is now part of the look.
Much of this comeback has been reportedly noticed and celebrated on Instagram by Shelby Hull, who runs the popular account ‘‘wired it girl”. She started the page in 2021, simply posting pictures of celebrities wearing wired earphones. Over time, the account grew into a style diary showing how something basic and old school suddenly feels cool again.
Athletes are also choosing wired headphones, but for slightly different reasons. Many say they are tired of charging wireless earbuds, dealing with pairing issues, or losing one tiny bud during workouts. Wired headphones just work on battery, no connection problems, no stress.
Fans of wired headphones say they are simple, affordable, and reliable. For many young people, they also bring back memories of early smartphones and ipods. There’s a nostalgic, throwback feeling attached to them, especially as Y2K fashion and early wired headphones accessories return.
