Exhibition, talk, dance: Exploring Baramasa: The Ritu kavya

'Museum By Light', a monthly last Friday ritual of every month brings a painting exhibition, talk and Odissi Dance performance.

Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum in collaboration with IGNCA Regional Centre Vadodara presents Exploring Baramasa: The Ritu kavya. 

A talk on Baramasa Paintings by Dr Rita Sodha (Art Historian & Faculty at the Department of Art History and Aesthetics, Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU, Baroda) will be held at 6.30 pm on Friday. Followed by an Odissi dance performance at 7 pm.

Shorts films showcase

Arthshila Ahmedabad’s Film Showcase this week features a series of short films exploring the idea of urbanism with distinctive social and cultural patterns in cities.

Short films lined up for showcase include:

Arrival: The film explores the product-commodity-exchange value relationship, linked with the migration of human labour and livestock into Bombay.

Growing Metropolis: The film traces Delhi’s changing character as a growing metropolis through its ancient architecture.

City on the Water: A documentary film on the planning of the city of New Bombay to manage its escalating population and how the idea about developing New Bombay evolved.
