Milan Fashion Week 2024 kicks off today: Here’s all you need to know

One of the most prominent events in the world of fashion, the glamorous Milan Fashion Week kicks off today in Italy’s fashion capital. The week-long event will have 57 live ramp-walk shows, making it the ultimate semi-annual fashion trade event in the world.
Milan Fashion Week 2024 schedule
The Milan Fashion Week 2024, officially called the Milano Fashion Week SS2025, will kick off today with a day added for women’s fashion, and will conclude on September 23.
On the first day itself, the event will have five fashion shows by Fendi, Marni, Alberta Ferretti, Iceberg, and Milano Moda Graduate.
Over the course of the week, the event will have 66 such fashion shows, including digital ones.

Brands to watch out
The Milan Fashion Week is the hub for the fashion industry’s who’s who to gather. The big names featured in the week-long glitz-extravaganza are Prada, Gucci, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferrari, Diesel, and Emporio Armani.

Emporio Armani is a mid-level priced range by Armani to cater to a younger audience, while the Giorgio Armani is the top-of-the-line, expensive garments.
Missing stalwarts
Interestingly, Giorgio Armani will not feature in this Milan Fashion Week, along with big names like Moncler, Tom Ford, MSGM, and Blumarine, according to media reports.

Held since 1958, Milan Fashion Week is one of the ‘Big Four’ fashion weeks. The other ‘big’ fashion shows are in London, Paris, and New York.
The Milan Fashion Week is semi-annual, which means it is held twice a year. The men’s fashion week was held this year in January.
