Kerala, often called the “Southern Paradise of India,” has secured a place among the Top 26 travel destinations in the world for 2026, according to the latest rankings released by Rough Guides. The Indian state proudly stands at 16th position on the prestigious list.

Rough Guides based its 2026 rankings on a combination of real traveler data and expert local insights. The team analyzed over 30,000 tailor-made trip enquiries sent to their local travel experts worldwide, identifying clear travel trends and rising demand.

For instance, more than 35% of travelers planning trips to Italy requested Cinque Terre, highlighting how certain destinations are gaining strong momentum for 2026. These insights were then combined with on-the-ground knowledge from local experts who track evolving regions, new routes, and emerging experiences. This data-driven approach shaped the final list.
