The Cannes Film Festival 2026 once again became a major fashion stage for Indian celebrities, creators, and artists, with stars showcasing international glamour and Indian craftsmanship through their red-carpet looks.  

Alia Bhatt became one of the biggest highlights of the festival with a series of elegant fashion moments. She first appeared in a dramatic Tamara Ralph gown before wearing a hand-painted 1950s-inspired outfit by Yash Patil, featuring artwork by Ahmedabad’s Basurii Choksi. She later chose Indian-inspired ensembles by Tarun Tahiliani and ended her Cannes journey in a custom Danielle Frankel look.

Tara Sutaria impressed with her vintage Hollywood-inspired styling. She wore a sculpted black outfit by Rhea Costa featuring an off-shoulder corset-style bodice, paired with opera gloves that added a classic retro touch. She completed the look with Saint Laurent sunglasses, Chanel vintage earrings, and Jimmy Choo heels.

Farhana Bodi delivered one of the festival’s most glamorous looks in a custom aquamarine couture gown by Atelier Zuhra. The Swarovski crystal-covered gown reportedly took almost a year to complete and was paired with luxury jewellery featuring diamonds, aquamarines, and a Paraiba tourmaline ring.​

Urvashi Rautela walked the red carpet in a gown by Vietnamese designer JoliPoli while still highlighting her Indian roots through styling and accessories.

Fashion creator Ishita Mangal brought Indian textile heritage to Cannes in a handcrafted Ajrakh outfit from Kutch designed by Geroo Jaipur. Meanwhile, Rida Tharana showcased Indian couture in a detailed creation by Nikhil Gajare Couture.

Roopi Gill paid tribute to Punjabi culture in an outfit by Pitambara by Manisha, while filmmaker Payal Kapadia chose a look by Arjun Saluja for her Cannes appearance.

Digital creators also made stylish appearances. Smriti Khanna represented modern Indian creators at the festival, while Niharika Jain highlighted heritage-inspired fashion through her label Dumroo. Bhumika Shajwani represented Indian women with confidence and elegance, and Namrata Vishal Lodaya brought storytelling and authenticity to the global platform.

Together, these personalities showed how India’s presence at Cannes is growing beyond cinema, becoming a powerful celebration of fashion, culture, and creativity on a global stage.
