Diwali weekend offers talks films exhibitions and play in Ahmedabad

Talk: Vidhya, Vichar ane Vaani

“We are all her children, yet in Gujarat, Saraswati Puja is rarely celebrated on this day at a large scale. So, we have taken the initiative to celebrate it at Kalasmruti on Friday,” said writer Jay Vasavada. Along with Vasavda, Nehul Gadhvi and Subhash Bhatt, both revered literary seekers from Bhavnagar will celebrate Saraswati through a joyful confluence of knowledge, thought, and expression. Their presence will add strength and depth to this meaningful conversation.

Film screening: Frances Ha & The Worst Person in the World

Compere Ahmedabad has planned a full day with two films — Frances Ha and The Worst Person in the World. 

This edition of “Double Take” celebrates the uncertainty, drift, and small triumphs that make us human — in black and white, and in colour.

Exhibition: The Golden Journey

Artist Anil Shah is set to celebrate 50 years of his artistic journey with a solo painting exhibition titled “The Golden Journey”. The exhibition will be held from October 14 to 19 at Amdavad ni Gufa, between 4 pm and 8 pm daily until October 19. The event was inaugurated by acclaimed poet and artist Madhav Ramanuj, and graced with blessings from Arvind Vakani (General Secretary, Gujarat Visual Artist Association), B R Prajapati (President, Gujarat Journalist Union), and artist Mahendra Mistry. The exhibition promises to be a remarkable reflection of Shah's creative evolution over five decades.
