Danang makes strong pitch as wedding destination for Indians

Vietnam’s coastal gem, Danang, is making a strong push to attract Indian tourists, especially destination wedding seekers. At the Danang Roadshow held in Ahmedabad, the Tourism Department of Danang highlighted various initiatives to cater to Indian travellers, including wedding packages, cultural inclusions, and increased flight connectivity.

Destination weddings in Danang

With the growing demand for grand Indian destination weddings, Danang is now offering specialised wedding packages for Indian families. For those seeking a beachside wedding, the city provides multiple venues with packages starting at ₹4 lakh and going up to ₹43 lakh, making it an affordable yet luxurious option. Couples can choose from intimate gatherings of 50-100 guests to large-scale celebrations, all with the stunning backdrop of Danang’s coastline.

Getaway with Indian restaurants

To make Indian tourists feel at home, Danang has embraced Indian culture and diversity, incorporating elements such as traditional Indian cuisine, cultural festivals, and rituals into its tourism offerings. The city now boasts 25 Indian restaurants, ensuring that Indian travellers get a taste of home while exploring Vietnam.

Ahmedabad only Indian city with a direct flight to Danang

A key highlight of the roadshow was Ahmedabad’s direct flight to Danang, making it the only city in India with this exclusive connection. This direct route has significantly contributed to the rise of Indian tourists from Gujarat, one of the strongest economic contributors to Danang’s tourism.

To further strengthen ties between India and Vietnam, VietJet Air is launching new direct flights from Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

March 18, 2025, two weekly flights will operate from Hyderabad to Vietnam

March 19, 2025, three weekly flights will operate from Bengaluru to Vietnam

Tickets for these flights are already available, and additional routes from India are expected soon. Currently, 34-36 flights operate weekly between India and Vietnam, demonstrating the growing demand for travel between the two nations.

India largest market for Vietnam

According to Le Quang Bien, Consul General of Vietnam in Mumbai, India is the largest market for Danang, with a steady rise in Indian visitors post-pandemic.

In 2024 alone, 5 lakh Indian tourists visited Danang. Since Covid-19 pandemic, tourism in Danang has surged by 13.5 times, making it one of the most preferred travel destinations in Southeast Asia.
