Bezos’ $55 million wedding extravaganza: Private jets, water taxis, and hotel rooms costing a fortune

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding in Venice, being dubbed as the wedding of the century, is living up to its name. The extravaganza that has already begun in Italy’s Venice, is reportedly worth a whopping $55 million (over ₹470 crore) affair, as the second-richest man in the world will exchange vows.
The gigantic number however, also includes the donations to charity, the most prominent of all being Venice’s own Corila – a organisation that promotes and coordinates research on the Venice lagoon.
Venue set in 15th century
Though, the venue for exchanging the vows was changed at the last minute owing to external factors as protests were held against Bezoz, the venue for the party is reportedly set to be Arsenale, a naval dockyard that was built back in 15th century!
The venue where Bezos and Sanchez will exchange the vows, is kept confidential.
Who’s who
The who’s who of the world, including Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Oprah Winfrey are likely to be on the guest list.
Guests in the lap of luxury
Ferrying these high profile guests would be 30 water taxis, and bringing them to the wedding venue are 90 private jets. The jets reportedly arrived at three places in Venice, Treviso, and Verona airports.
The high-profile guests were then taken to five grand hotels in Venice, of course via water taxis, the tariffs of which range from $3,200 to $32,000 a night, as per reports.
The welcome dinner was hosted at Scuola Grande, a site of historical significance. The next day, the guests are supposed to set out for a cruise that will take place on a ‘superyacht’ at the Venetian lagoons.
Even as the protests simmer in the background, the wedding is taking place on the floating stage of Venice, and the world stands witness to the grandeur it has to offer.
