Kutch Murder: Lover Allegedly Kills Woman’s Husband, Dumps Dismembered Body in Pond

A shocking murder case has come to light in Anjar, where a 43-year-old man who had gone missing under mysterious circumstances was allegedly killed and his body cut into two pieces before being packed into separate plastic bags and dumped in a pond.

Police have arrested the accused and solved the murder mystery. During the investigation, police allegedly found that the accused was the lover of the victim’s wife. According to police, the accused feared for his own safety after the victim became aware of the relationship and allegedly decided to kill him.

Lover Allegedly Killed Woman’s Husband

According to information available in the case, police investigation into the murder of Lakkhu Humbal led to the arrest of Dinesh Raydhan Thakor.

During questioning, police reportedly learned that Lakkhu's son had dropped his father at a farm for night watch duty. The accused allegedly later called Lakkhu to his house.

Police said that Dinesh attacked Lakkhu with an iron rod, striking him on the head and other parts of his body, resulting in his death.

After allegedly committing the murder, Dinesh decided to dispose of the body by throwing it into a pond. However, police said he was unable to lift the body. He allegedly then dismembered it, packed the remains into plastic bags and dumped them in the pond.

Affair Allegedly Continued for 1.5 Years

According to the police investigation, Dinesh Thakor, originally from Palansva village in Rapar taluka, had allegedly been in an extramarital relationship with Lakkhu's wife for around one-and-a-half years.

The relationship had reportedly led to frequent disputes between Lakkhu and his wife. At one point, the woman allegedly left the house and began living separately.

However, following intervention and persuasion by family members, she returned to live with Lakkhu.

Police have arrested Dinesh Thakor in connection with the murder and further investigation is underway.

What Happened to Lakkhu Humbal?

According to the information available, 43-year-old Lakkhu Humbal, a resident of Sardar Awas Society in the Varsamedi area of Anjar, mysteriously disappeared after the night of August 31.

At around 10 pm on August 31, his son Ravi reportedly dropped him near a farm located behind a Ganesh temple close to the Varsamedi toll plaza, where Lakkhu was supposed to keep watch.

When Lakkhu failed to return home by the following afternoon, his family began searching for him.

During the search, his mobile phone was found abandoned near the Narmada Pumping Station. The family subsequently filed a missing-person report at Anjar police station on the evening of September 1.

As there was still no information about Lakkhu, his family remained worried.

The case took a gruesome turn on Saturday, September 5, when information emerged that two plastic bags containing human body parts had been found near the bank of a village pond.

Family members and police rushed to the spot.

During the investigation, police found that one bag contained the portion of the body from the head to the waist, while the second contained the remaining part of the body.

Police subsequently worked to establish the identity of the victim and investigate the circumstances behind the murder, leading to the arrest of Dinesh Thakor.
