9,400 Empty Bottles seized in Kutch as Police Bust Fake Liquor Manufacturing in Adipur

A special team under Border Range Inspector General of Police Chirag Koradia raided a commercial complex in Adipur on Tuesday, unearthing an illicit fake liquor manufacturing unit operating inside the dry state of Gujarat.

Police struck Riddhi Siddhi Complex in Adipur’s 4A locality following precise intelligence inputs. Preliminary questioning revealed that the illicit operation had started just three to four days prior to the crackdown.

Spurious Spirit Sourced via Interstate Network

Investigating officers found that raw chemical ingredients used to manufacture the counterfeit alcohol were dispatched from Mumbai. The delivery was coordinated through a Rajasthan-based handler identified only as Raju.

Law enforcement personnel detained two suspects from the spot during the raid. One of the primary accused, Hitesh Bamaniya, already faces prior charges under the Prohibition Act across police stations in Vapi and Anjar.

Mass Production Interrupted by Raid

During the operation, police confiscated 600 litres of chemical liquid along with 9,400 empty glass bottles meant for bottling fake Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). A total of 600 sealed bottles filled with spurious liquor were also recovered from the facility.

A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) reached the premises shortly after the raid to collect fluid samples for detailed toxicological analysis. Further investigations are underway to trace the broader supply chain linking Mumbai, Rajasthan, and local distributors across Kutch.

This major crackdown comes directly on the heels of the devastating spurious liquor tragedy in Bhavnagar, where the death toll recently climbed to 13 after two more victims succumbed during treatment, sparking widespread police vigilance and state-wide raids targeting illicit chemical-blended alcohol.
