Two Brothers Brought 5 kg Ganja From Bihar, Sold it to Labourers in Jamnagar; One Arrested

Police have seized 4 kg of ganja worth ₹2 lakh from a rented room in Meghpar village near Jamnagar and arrested Sunilkumar Rambabu Rai.

According to police, Sunilkumar and his brother Sujitkumar had brought 5 kg of ganja from Bihar and started selling it to labourers in retail from their rented room. After around 1 kg was sold, police acted on a tip-off and seized the remaining 4 kg.

Sunilkumar, originally from Maura Buzurg village in Bihar, was arrested on September 27. During preliminary questioning, police learnt about his brother Sujitkumar Rambabu Rai and their alleged supplier, Monu, from Bahuara village in Bihar. Both have been declared absconding, and police are searching for them.

Ganja Allegedly Brought from Bihar

Police said Sunilkumar and Sujitkumar had travelled to their native Bihar, where they allegedly contacted Monu and purchased 5 kg of ganja for ₹20,000.

The two brothers then returned to Meghpar on September 23 with the consignment and allegedly began selling it to labourers from a rented room.

After about 1 kg of the ganja had been sold, police received information about the activity and raided the room. They recovered the remaining 4 kg and arrested Sunilkumar.

Eight-Day Remand Granted

Sunilkumar was produced before a court for further interrogation and investigation. The court approved an eight-day remand.

Police have also extended the investigation to Bihar to trace the alleged supplier Monu and Sunilkumar's brother Sujitkumar.
