SOG Raids Kalavad House, Seizes 1,200 Litres Of Suspected Adulterated Milk

A suspected milk adulteration operation was uncovered at a residential property in Kalavad, Jamnagar district, after the Special Operations Group (SOG) conducted a raid and seized a large quantity of suspected adulterated milk and other ingredients.

The action was carried out following directions from Rajkot Range DIG Nirlipt Rai and Jamnagar Superintendent of Police Dr Ravi Mohan Saini as part of an ongoing drive against food adulteration.

75 Kg Each Of Vanaspati Ghee And Milk Powder Found

The SOG team was conducting patrols in Kalawad town and nearby rural areas when staff members received information about suspected adulterated milk being prepared at a house near Shitala Mataji Temple in the Kapuriya area.

Police subsequently raided the premises belonging to Kanji alias Kano Depalbhai Malani. During the search, they found around 1,200 litres of suspected milk, along with 75 kg of vanaspati ghee and 75 kg of milk powder.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of SOG in-charge Police Inspector V.B. Chaudhary and Police Sub-Inspector L.M. Zera.

Samples Collected, Suspected Stock Destroyed

Following the seizure, the SOG informed the Food Safety Department. Officials reached the premises and collected samples of the milk and other materials for examination before initiating the sealing process.

The suspected milk, vanaspati ghee and milk powder were later destroyed at the site in the presence of a Food Safety Officer, with the stated aim of preventing any potential risk to human health and the environment.

Police said further proceedings have been initiated against the person concerned under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
