It turned out that the 24-year-old shooter who mass-shotted at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University was an excellent student of the same university.

David Kozak, a resident of a village almost 20 km away from Prague, was pursuing a Master’s Degree in Polish history at Charles University.

Prague police chief Martin Vondrasek reportedly said,“He was an excellent student.”

The police said the suspected shooter had killed his father at home outside Prague before travelling to the campus.

After shooting and killing 14 people and leaving 25 injured, he killed himself.

Czech interior minister Vit Rakusan told a local radio station on Dec 23 that the shooting was “a terrible act, unprecedented in the history of the Czech Republic,” but with no indication of links with “international terrorism.”

Eleven of all the victims in the university shooting in Prague have been identified, the Czech police said.

“We are still working at the scene of the shooting. Currently, we have identified 11 of the deceased and are working to confirm other identities,” the police said on Dec 23 on social media.

The police have tightened nationwide preventive measures since Dec 22, a Chinese news agency reported.
